When I present on small space design I start out by showing images that inspire me. I am especially attracted to the everyday ordinary object turned into something you wouldn’t expect. For instance, you may see a slide of a woman wearing a blue Ikea bag that has been reconstructed into a sheath dress. It’s often this unexpected and inventive use of a simple material that can add dimension to an otherwise routine idea or space. Below are a couple pictures of a wall I saw at a restaurant that immediately caught my eye. Three varieties of beans and a glue gun create this stunning, inventive and rich background.
